Key Stats - Save Time getting Company Data

Telemet Orion's Key Stats page presents detailed financial data on individual stocks. To access, use the Display menu item, select Research, and then select Key Stats.


The new Key Stats page is the "go to" page for all you need to know about a company. With single clicks of the mouse, easily get at relative performance, ratios, a company summary, ownership changes, financial trends, and much more.

Function Keys are a great way to quickly minimize or maximize windows.

Ø  Press the F4 Function Key to cycle between maximize, minimize, and restore windows.

Function Keys

Function Keys are a great way to quickly open new pages in Orion.  These shortcuts may be used in any Telemet Orion display to easily view market data:

Ø  Press the F5 Function Key to launch a Snap Quote

Ø  Press the F12 Function Key to launch a NASDAQ Level II

Ø  Press the F10 Function Key to launch a Time & Sale window

SEC Filings on Edgar

Users have access to SEC 10K and 10Q filings and other Edgar data within Orion with Double Click Actions.

Within any page, choose the column of data you would like to assign a double click action to view Edgar.  For example, if you would like to bring up an Edgar filing for a particular issue by double clicking on the Net % change value, you would choose the Net % column.

1)  Double click on the Column Header Name.  The Select Columns window appears.

2)  Choose Double Click Action under the Attributes section.

3)  Choose Edgar File under the Double Click Action drop-down menu.

4)  Finish by selecting OK.

 

 

Once the setting is saved, you may double click on any Net % change value on that page to open Edgar.

 

 

Find the symbol for a company, mutual fund, index, etc.

Telemet Orion Ticker Lookup tool can be used to find the symbol for stocks, mutual funds, economic indexes, etc.  Tools >Ticker lookup.   OR use the toolbar and select the binoculars with a “?” mark symbol.

If you are unsure of the exact name, enter a “*” or “%” sign and then one word within the name to perform a wildcard returning all results with that word in the name.

For example, let’s say you want to know the ticker for the Unemployment Rate Index.  Typing “unemployment” in the search bar will return no results.

However, using the “*” or “%” sign in front of the word “unemployment” will deliver more results, including what you were looking for: US Unemployment Rate – EMPLOY

Copy Entire Custom Page to Excel with Live Links

Clients can easily copy columns of data and tickers to Excel with the Copy Entire Page functionality within Telemet Orion.  From any Custom Price Page, choose Edit>Copy Entire Page.  Next, choose Paste within Excel.  All columns of data and the current symbol list will be copied onto an Excel worksheet.  In addition, the data elements will automatically update through Telemet Orion’s Excel Add-In, Telemet IQ.

Note: Telemet Orion must remain open for links to continue to update.

Print or Export Historical Data

Instantly display historical price information from a Snap Quote by clicking on the Data button on the toolbar

From the Data window, you may:

·         Modify the date range

·         View the data in Daily, Weekly, or Monthly segments

·         Print or Export the data

Personalize what report opens with a double click

Users have the ability to customize which report opens when double-clicking a value within a page as well as other windows in Telemet Orion.

Popular examples include:

·         Company Financials

·         Company 3 page reports

·         Company Snapshot

·         Corporate Actions

·         Historical or Intraday Charts

·         Key Statistics

·         SEC 10K and 10Q filings and other Edgar data

·         Snap News

·         Time and Sale and Market Makers

Syncing Windows

Using sync windows, you can enter a symbol once and see the snap quote, chart, and news pages updated simultaneously.   

1.      Start from any Workspace and select one of the windows you want synced.  Choose Window > Start Sync Group from the menu bar.

2.      Select the next window you want synced and choose Window > Add to Sync Group from the menu bar.

Ø  The two windows are now synced.  Enter a symbol in either window and the new symbol will now be reflected in both. You may also use the workspace named "Sync", which has been set up for you.

Instantly Add Upper and Lower Indicators to Charts

From any Telemet Orion Chart, users can immediately Add, Change, or Remove Upper and Lower Indicators by clicking the Quick Study icon from the Toolbar.

Time and Quote and Trader’s View Workspace

The Time & Quote and Trader’s View workspaces, under Trading, are perfect starting points for traders.  The combination of Snap Quote, Time & Sale, News, and Supply/Demand Chart windows along with the Tape for the major indices quickly demonstrate how the market is doing.

Within the Snap Quote window, you may double-click on the ‘T’ to quickly view that company’s Time and Sales data.

Telemet Orion users with the Dow Jones news subscription also have access to the Dow Jones Plus website offering a link to WSJ.com.

To quickly access, click on the green DJ+ icon from the Telemet Manager Pane or other Telemet Orion Menu Bars.  Once the webpage opens, click on the WSJ.com button.

Making Changes to Multi-Style Attribution Report

To change your choices when looking at the results of a Multi Style Attribution report, there is no need to start with a new screen.   Simply click on the two little grey arrows in the upper left corner of the screen (located underneath the Display menu choice). This will reopen the report's query options on the left-hand side of the report results so you may change the selected portfolio, date range, benchmark, and/or other analytics.  Once all edits are made, select Run to rerun the report.

Find the symbol for a company, mutual fund, index, etc.

1.      Use the toolbar and select the binoculars with a “?” mark symbol.  

2.      Type only the first part of the name so that no companies are excluded in your search.    

3.      Under the Type section, be sure to use Index for mutual funds or indexes and Stock for equities or ETFs. 

4.      Press the Look Up button once you have selected all your criteria.  Double click the name you want from the results window OR click once and press OK.  The Snap Quote for that name will then open in a new window.
