Historical Performance Charts

Through Performance Charts under Portfolio Analytics, users can view historical performance charts versus a benchmark for a particular portfolio.

Portfolio View under Portfolio Analytics can be used to view real-time updates to contribution of a particular portfolio.

Performance by Security

Telemet Orion can be used to view performance by security through Display > Portfolio Analytics > Performance by Security

Trading Impact

Telemet Orion can display trading impact on any portfolio.  Choose Display then Portfolio Analytics and Impact.

Limit Alerts

Easily set up price alerts from Telemet Orion’s Limits window

1) Go to Tools > Limits

2) Select Criteria to create limit alerts

·  You can enter tickers individually, choosing Add or hitting Enter or your keyboard

·  You can choose a Ticker List

·  After choosing your criteria, Click OK

·  Any limit alerts triggered will be logged on the Limits screen You must leave your Limits window open to receive alerts.

Shortcut to Charts Options

You may quickly view Chart Options by right clicking inside any Telemet Orion chart window.  This right click functionality works in various other pages as well.

Chart Forward EPS tied to current P/E

Telemet Orion users subscribing to Earnings Estimates can chart Forward EPS through Upper Chart Design.   

 

1.  Open Historical Snap Chart by using the F8 function key.

2.  Click on Options, Upper Chart Design.  The Upper Chart Design window opens.

3.  In the lower left portion of the Upper Chart Design window, select Tr 4 Q EPS - ADJ OR Tr 4Q EPS under Financials, Valuation.

4.  Next, choose your parameters for Smoothing.

5.  Lastly, choose your criteria for Show Next Days.

6.  Click OK when done to view chart.

Detailed Earnings Estimates

If you are a subscriber to earnings estimates, you can promptly view detailed earnings estimates by double-clicking within the earnings section of a Snap Quote window.

Quickly View Dividend History

It is easy to quickly view Dividend History from a Snap Quote window.  Holding your mouse over the middle area/div yield section of Snap Quote, you’ll notice your cursor turns to a hand.  Double-click to retrieve the dividend history, sales, splits, etc.

From that same dividend history screen, you can also navigate a company’s financial summary, sales, splits and corporate actions.

View Peer Group within Custom Price Page

From a Snap quote window, point your cursor to the SIC code and double click.  This brings up the Lookup Ticker window with the SIC Code entered.   Make sure Search by SIC is selected and choose Lookup.  The search retrieves all the peer groups and competitors of that company.  Taking that a step further, you may then Save Results as a List for comparisons and evaluations.

Chart Economic and Market Indices

Economic Indicators and Market Indices can be added to many Telemet Orion Charts through the Upper Chart Design menu within Options.  Simply browse and select the data you want to chart from the expandable sections in the upper left-hand corner of the Upper Chart Design window.  Examples include the US Unemployment % Change, US New Home Sales, the Dow Jones 65 Stock Composite, and the S&P 500.

Workspaces Loaded on Startup

Would you rather have the last saved workspace you were working with open automatically when restarting Telemet Orion?  Choose Tools > Defaults > Workspace to change On Startup to “Load most recent workspace” then click on OK.

You can also select “Do not load any workspaces” to have only the Telemet Manager pane open on startup.

Creating New Workspaces

Telemet Orion allows users to create new workspaces with their own set of windows and customization features.  You may begin by editing an existing workspace or by choosing new windows through Functions > New Display.  Once you have your windows arranged on the screen the way you like, choose Functions > Workspace > Save As.  Your new workspace name will appear at the top of the Telemet Manager pane.

TIP: Name the workspace something that will help you remember its use when selecting it from the Telemet Manager pane.

Sharing Ticker Lists

Telemet Orion provides a quick and easy way to allow multiple Orion users to share centrally located Ticker Lists. You can use Orion’s Central Lists feature to give all users access to the same model or approved List of tickers without each of them having to maintain the List themselves.

To set up Central Lists please use the following steps:

1)  Create a location on a shared network drive that will contain the Telemet Orion List files to be shared. There is no restriction on the location or the folder name that you may choose. Example: P:\Telemet Central Lists

2)  The person who is responsible for maintaining the shared Lists will create and modify them using their normal Telemet Orion program. When they are done they will simply copy the List files to be shared from their Telemet\lists folder to the shared network folder designated in step one.

NOTE:  To find a file name for a specific List, select the List in question then click on Options> List> Edit and click on the General tab

3)  Orion users who wish to access the Central Lists will first need to set-up the link to the file location.   From any Telemet Orion window, choose Tools > Defaults and then click on the File Loc tab.  Enter the path to the shared network folder designated in step 1 into the Central Location > Lists field, and then choose OK.

NOTE: The Telemet user who maintains the shared Lists should not have the setting for the Central Location> Lists’ field. Having that setting on their workstation would cause their Orion to see two copies of the same Lists and will trigger warning messages for them

4)  Close and reopen Telemet Orion. Orion will now access Lists both from the user’s personal Orion folders and the Central Lists location. Lists accessed from the Central Lists location will be read-only and cannot be modified by the user.

Key Statistics

Quickly open a window showing key statistical analysis with one click on the KS button in your toolbar

The data points can then be drilled down further by clicking on the blue hyperlinks, or navigating between the Earnings, Revenues, Key Rations, and Financials tabs.

SEC Filings on Edgar

Users have access to SEC 10K and 10Q filings and other Edgar data within Orion with Double Click Actions.

Within any page, choose the column of data you would like to assign a double click action to view Edgar.  For example, if you would like to bring up an Edgar filing for a particular issue by double clicking on the Net % change value, you would choose the Net % column.

1)  Double click on the Column Header Name.  The Select Columns window appears.

2)  Choose Double Click Action under the Attributes section.

3)  Choose Edgar File under the Double Click Action drop-down menu.

4)  Finish by selecting OK.

Once the setting is saved, you may double click on any Net % change value on that page to open Edgar.

Help Menu

The Help menu can be quickly launched from any Telemet Orion display by using the F1 Function Key.  Help allows you to browse information by Index, Menu, or using the Search dialogue. 

Viewing Sector and Industry Groups

From a Page you can easily break out your Telemet Lists into their S&P or Russell Sector or Industry groups with just three clicks: 

1.  From the menu bar choose Options

2.  Then select Group By

3.  Select S&P Industry, Sector, etc depending on how you would like to see your data

Note: To turn off the grouping use the same menus to unselect the grouping you chose.

Syncing Windows

Using sync windows, you can enter a symbol once and see the snap quote, chart, and news pages updated simultaneously. 

1. Start from any Workspace and select one of the windows you want synced.  Choose Window > Start Sync Group from the menu bar.

2. Select the next window you want synced and choose Window > Add to Sync Group from the menu bar.

Ø The two windows are now synced.  Enter a symbol in either window and the new symbol will now be reflected in both. You may also use the workspace named "Sync", which has been set up for you.
