Assign Notes within a Symbol List

Did you know Telemet Orion allows you to add free-text notes to any Symbol List?  For example, clients may add Proprietary Rankings; Buy/Hold status; Strategy Names; etc. to each company within an individual list.  The Note field can then be seen on any page as a column for that specific Telemet Symbol List.

1.  Go to Tools>List>Edit and select the Symbol List you wish to add Notes to

2.  Navigate to the Custom Fields tab.  Highlight Note under the Custom Fields box and click on Add so that Note appears in the Selected Fields box.

3.  Next click on the Field Values tab.  From this window, you may add your notes by highlighting the corresponding security in the Symbol List box and typing in the Note box.  Click OK when done with all security notes.

Note: The default for this field is 25 characters and can be increased to 30.  Each Note is restricted to the corresponding symbol list – not the security.

New Feature! Automatically plot ticker’s Sector or Industry on Intraday and Historical Charts

A feature previously limited to Total Return Charts to automatically add a security's sector or industry as a second ticker on the chart has now been added to Intraday and Historical Charts.

1.Within the chart window, select Options > Upper Chart Design.  The Upper Chart Design window opens.

2. To the right side of the window, select the box marked “Auto Index Selector on the stock entered into the first position”.  Once checked, it will read SP Industry/Sector Selection on the stock “Example”(chosen in the first line of Chart Tickers).

3. Choose S&P Sector or Industry to plot by clicking on the corresponding radio button.

4. The Sector or Industry ticker for the first security selection will appear in the second row for Chart Tickers.

5. Click OK.

Custom Benchmarks

Did you know Custom Benchmarks can be imported into Telemet Orion?  Once added, these benchmarks can be used in Multi-Style Attribution as well as various pages throughout the platform.

 

1) From your Telemet Manager window, click Functions>Add-In-Console>Portfolio Accounts.  The Portfolio Accounts Console window will appear.

 

 

 

2) Click “Benchmarks” on the left side of the screen and then select New.

A.  Choose “Model Portfolio” if a portfolio that contains transactions is wanted as the benchmark – such as an Advent Axys cli file.

B.  Choose “Text – Delimited” if the file containing the Benchmark data is in a delimited format, such as a csv or tab delimited file.

C.  Choose “Telemet Ticker List” if the data is currently viewable as a Telemet Orion Ticker List.

New Feature! Know what data is available to you when adding columns

In the most recent release, Telemet Orion version 8.1.09.00 now available for free on our website, users can identify what data elements they are permissioned to view when choosing columns to add to pages.  Within the Set Columns window, premium data that a user is not subscribed to will appear in gray text.

New Feature! Find Column Data

New Feature!  Adding columns to pages is now easier than ever!  With version 8.1.09.00, now available for free on our website, users have a Find box to search for various data points to add as columns.

Double click on any Column Header to open the Select Columns Window.  Next, click on Set Columns.  Using the Find box, type in any part of the data element you are looking for.  The above box of folders will then display all your options.

Color Schema

Quickly change the colors on Pages and Charts with pre-made Color Schema.  Choose Options>Color Schema to view the built-in templates.

Dow Jones News Plus

Telemet Orion users with the Dow Jones news subscription also have access to the Dow Jones Plus website offering a webpage view of the top news stories.

 

To quickly access, click on the green DJ+ icon from the Telemet Manager Pane or other Telemet Orion Menu Bars.  Once the webpage opens, you may save it to your Internet Favorites.

Pre-loaded Search Screens

Telemet Orion has many popular search screens already pre-built into the software.  For example: All Preferred Stocks; Dogs of the Dow and S&P 500; ETFs; GARP stocks; New Lows and Highs; and many more!

To access theses screens, choose Display>Search Screens>Open

Select the query you’d like to run and click OK.  A search screen will then open to display the results.  Be patient as some queries take a few moments to run.

Add Favorite Charts and Pages Directly to the Menu Choices

There are several places within Telemet Orion you may see “Press Shift and Select to Define” listed in menus.  This functionality allows users to add frequently used charts, pages, etc. directly to the menu options – thus saving the step of opening them each time.  You are not limited to only replacing “blank ones” with the above wording, users may overwrite any of the current choices using this feature.

For example, let’s say there is a particular Historical Chart you open often – the Stock Dividend chart.  To set up a direct path to this historical chart on the menu options, follow the below steps:

1. Display>Charts>Historical

2. Hold down the Shift key and with your cursor select the menu item you want to replace with the Stock Dividend Historical Chart

3. The available charts window opens.  Select Stock Dividend and then click OK.

4. The Stock Dividend Chart now appears as an option directly on the Historical Charts menu.

Add Corporate Logos and Disclaimers

Did you know company logos and disclaimers can be added to virtually any page, chart, or report within Telemet Orion? 

1. Choose Display > Print Setup.   The following window pops up.  Click on the Header/Footer tab.  Choose Customize Header to add a note or disclaimer to the top of the page or Customize Footer for it to show at the bottom.  A second window appears.

2. Enter text and use other data fields where needed. 

3. Click OK.  The disclaimer now appears in the Footer area.
